Post Baby Chat 2015 - Hopefully I can post a few things this year!

I hope to be back in this New Year to write a few more posts!  I had my baby boy in September and I have loved having him around.  My labor and delivery went well and I was back to working out 2-3 weeks post baby, taking it easy, but doing some work out.

I mentioned in an earlier post that I thought exercising with my first pregnancy helped me bounce back and it definitely helped with the second too.  With 2 kids working out is a little more complicated but I still find time to do it and feel good about myself.   My major problem has been my sweet tooth and still trying to feed myself and a baby (breastfeeding) has made it hard for me to stick to a meal plan/cleaner eating.  Some days I feel like I can't get enough food... and know that I need days like that right now for me and the baby.

Throughout my Pregnancy I gained 28 lbs!  I was pretty proud of that.  I planned to gain 30-35 but was excited that I kept it under that and still was healthy and my belly and baby were measuring healthy.  I did not try to not gain weight, I just tried to make sure I did it healthy.. I know some people may judge me because the weight gain was on the low side, but I promise you if my Dr would have been concerned, I would have put on more weight or done whatever I needed to have a healthy baby.

Post baby I lost the weight pretty quickly..  I won't lie I was a little disappointed when I got home from the hospital and I had only lost 6lbs.  I had read an article that said you lose the weight of the baby and extra blood flow and placenta weight which could be 10+ lbs.  So when I got home and saw I only lost the weight of the baby I was a little disappointed.  However, I knew that it took me 9 months to get to where I was it was gonna take more than 2 days to get back to what I want.

I started exercising as soon as I felt good enough, for me it was about 3 weeks after baby (I was walking with them before) but actually exercise 3 weeks after.  I try to watch my body and make sure I don't push too hard or lose my breastfeeding abilities.  To me I feel like it is more important to feed the baby than to lose the weight instantly.  It took about 3 months to get back to my pre baby weight, but that didn't mean fitness level, I am still working on that.

My daily meals look somewhat like this
eggs and toast breakfast
fruit or something as a snack
Salmon and pea and carrots for lunch
half protein bar or half PBJ for snack
Dinner - varies...  I eat what I cook for the family, but sometimes add more veggies to my meals.
